The
Palms is situated in Lake Davenport Estates. This is a quiet community
situated just off highway 27 on the south west side of Orlando.
As well as being close enough to Disney and the other theme parks,
it is also just 35 minutes from the international airport and
is served by an excellent Publix supermarket just under a mile
away. There is a 24 hour Walmart just 5 minutes away.
Davenport Lakes itself has its own facilities including a communal
swimming pool, tennis court, childrens' play area and basketball
court.
With its mostly year long sub-tropical climate, Florida is the
ideal location for outdoor sporting activities. The villa has
four excellent golf courses nearby. The closest at Polo Park in
only 1 mile away & all the club facilities are available to
the public. This year 18 holes of golf at that venue cost only
$15 on a good course. Several of the other courses are also nearby
& there is a splendid course complete with driving range at
Deer Creek which is only 4 miles south of the villa. There are
also several good water skiing lakes nearby, which include supervision
and tuition. Dave's ski school on a lake off the US highway 192
about 5 miles away is a good example. The rates are cheap &
tuition is provided by a good natured staff. A good day out for
all the family.
